Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a Behavioural Support Assistant to assist with behaviour in an Alternative Provision in Blackburn.
The school caters for 11-16 year olds with complex SEMH difficulties and ASC; therefore, many children may display challenging behaviours and cannot thrive in a mainstream school.
The successful candidate must be strong and resilient in order to be a good role model for the children at the school. The school prides itself on having a board curriculum in an attempt to reengage their pupils, therefore, the successful candidate should be able to cultivate this interest and ensure to remain positive even in difficult situations.
As a Behavioural Mentor, your duties will include you will be required to supervise the pupils throughout the school day, encourage the pupils to engage with their education, build rapport with the pupil, be a role model, help the pupils to understand why their education is important. You may be required to work 1:1 with a certain pupil or provide more general classroom support.
The school would be interested in a candidate who has previous experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours. They would also consider applications from Sports Coaches, Carers, Residential support workers, Youth Workers and those with the experience within the Prison system or the Military.

This is a full time role working across school hours Monday- Friday.
The pay for this role is negotiable but will not be any less than �10.77 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
