We are currently dealing with a client organization who are looking for a Logistics Manager on a contract basis to be based in Birmingham are working on a new major High Speed rail project.
As the Logistics Manager you will required to assess the planning of the works undertaken by the professional services contractors, identify and assess the total logistics requirements in geographical areas identifying common requirements between contracts, work compounds and work sites and to interface and develop a coordinated approach with adjacent geographical areas. During construction, the Logistics Manager will monitor and assess contractor compliance with the Logistics Management Plan and the Coordinated Construction Logistics Plan (CLCP) is required for quality and safety assurance purposes and to ensure the efficiency of the coordinated strategy. Typical duties can include, but not limited to:
- Assist the Logistics Coordination Manager (LCM) in the production of a route-wide, coordinated model for construction logistics from the integration of the area logistics models;
- Produce various text, charts, diagrams etc. for inclusion in the CLCP and undertake a review of the final CLCP document and of the Employer’s Requirements (ERs) for Logistics Management;
- Undertake an assurance role during construction, monitoring and reporting on the contractor’s management of route-wide logistics and compliance with the ERs in each area and for the success and efficiency of the Project, provide support and advice on logistics
- Liaise with the spoil logistics team on the Mass Haul strategy to identify vehicle movement requirements in each area and amend the area model to suit;
Job Requirements
- Proven track record gained within a construction and/or logistics environment
- Strong stakeholder management experience, and comfortable dealing with people at varying levels
- Driving licence with own vehicle – ability to travel to site around Birmingham/West Midlands region
As mentioned, this is a contract position based in the West Midlands and Birmingham region, which would be a mobile role require traveling to contractor’s sites around the area.
