Teaching Assistants

Teaching Personnel in partnership with a specialist provision in the PR5 area, are looking to hire additional support staff. There are two roles available due to high need in the provision for extra support, both for pupils and the general running of the provision. These roles are full-time and are required ASAP!

The roles

As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be required to provide high quality care and interventions to pupils with additional needs, supporting their educational and holistic development. All pupils will have an EHC plan, so it is paramount that you adhere to the plan throughout your time spent with them, ensuring that all you do is centred around the wellbeing of the pupils. Working within an SEN environment, your role may require you to deal with challenging situations and safeguarding issues, your training must always be up to date and know the latest policies and procedures to protect and nurture the pupils to the highest standard possible. The roles are ideally to start in September however depending on individuals' availability, these may be able to start beforehand.

The provision

This provision is a SEMH mixed primary and secondary provision, that caters for students aged 5-17 years. All pupils have an EHC plan and additional needs, all of which can display challenging behaviours. The provision requires all members of staff to be able to have had previous experience working to support people with challenging behaviours and/ or additional needs, this requirement is due to the high-pressure environment you may be challenged with at the provision, having previous experience allows you to be able to deal with these situations professionally and calmly throughout. The provision provides its students with extracurricular activities, both supporting their educational and holistic development, they aspire to provide all of their students with essential life skills.

* Full-time working hours, Monday - Friday (8.30am- 3:30pm)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
