Child Support Worker - Whitchurch, Cardiff.

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an enthusiastic and confident person to join a large support worker team within educational settings. The school are looking for someone to work on a Monday to Friday basis between the hours of 8:15am to 15:15pm per day.

Due to the backlog from COVID-19 schools across Cardiff are needing more help than ever. Schools have reported large numbers of learners falling behind with the Welsh national educational curriculum. Teaching Personnel are looking for support workers to help support the return to school in 2022/23.

As a child support worker you will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with your key child supporting the development, academic performance and emotional wellbeing of that learner. Shadowing your key learner throughout their lessons for the day will be vital to this role.

The school are looking for someone with an 'Can do' attitude towards supporting vulnerable young adults within education. The Welsh curriculum is now more tailored towards enhancing skills of that young learner as well as providing them with a quality education in the meantime. You will be taking part of sports events, promoting life skills, wellbeing talks and much more within the role.

The school operate between the hours of 8:15am to 15:15pm, with the expectation of you being able to have a comprehensive understanding of what support is needed before the learner arrives at 8:35am. Furthermore staying behind to debrief with your manager at 15:05pm when the learner leaves for the day.

Currently in line with the new government wage increase the school is looking to pay the successful applicant �10.77 per working hour. With the expectation to work within term time to enable sufficient support is provided.

- Whitchurch Area

- Starting September 2022 following through to July 2023

- Interviewing between April/ May

- Monday to Friday Role

What are the requirements for the role?

- Relevant support experience (Adults or Children)

- Minimum of 5 A* - C GCSES

- Ability to travel to the Whitchurch Area

- Valid Child Workforce Enhanced DBS Check or willingness to apply (Assistance provided)

- Valid Education Workforce Council registration or willingness to apply (Assistance provided)
