Intervention Teaching is a wonderful opportunity for a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, Early Careers Teacher, Teacher or Fully Qualified Teacher to build upon their experience, as the successful applicant will be working across KS1/KS2 with year groups from Year 1 to Year 6.

The Role

As a Primary Intervention Teacher, you will be working closely with students either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups of 1:2 or 1:3, supporting them to make rapid progress in Numeracy and/or Literacy. This will be in-class and may be for full days or consecutive half-day block-bookings. Additional responsibilities include completing tutor reports for your pupils on a weekly basis.

These opportunities will run for a period of 15-weeks with each pupil receiving one hour of tuition per week. As Teaching Personnel are approved Tuition Partners until 2024, it is possible this role may continue into the next academic year (2022 - 2023) or lead to longer-term tutoring roles.

The school has been praised for their nurturing ethos and ability to meet the varying needs of their pupils. Our school caters for the individual needs of a large number of children with English as an Additional Language and Specific Learning Difficulties, so it is essential that the successful applicant has a calm and patient nature and the dedication to support disadvantaged pupils make progress.


* Qualified Teacher Status or a Degree in Education/Maths/English (however other related degrees are ideal)
* Minimum 6-months experience in tutoring/education is essential (particularly with KS1/2 pupils)
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Experience working with students with additional needs such as EAL, Dyslexia & Dyscalculia is desirable
* Must be compliant with vetting procedures such as DBS checks

* Must be able to commit to the role on a long-term basis

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
