Teaching Personnel are working with a good rated Primary School who are looking to secure an enthusiastic teaching assistant to support them across Key Stage 1, at times you may also go into their EYFS setting. Experience working in KS1 would be requirement for this role, the role would include offering full class support as well as supporting SEND pupils in small groups to carry out reading and writing interventions.
About the role:
* Starting 3 rd May 2022 until July 2022 though it is expected the role will be extended into the next academic year
* Working across Key Stage 1 with the scope to also go into the EYFS setting to support the Reception class
* Offering full class support as well as small group interventions for both Reading and Writing
* Working with the class teacher to ensure resources and available to pupils throughout the lesson and organising displays if needed
About the school:
* Located in Durham (DH7), there are good transport links to the school, some parking is also available
* Teaching staff have heightened their skills in the teaching of phonics and early reading. Standards have risen over time and pupils' outcomes now exceed those seen nationally
* Pupils behaviour is good. Pupils are polite, friendly, and considerate of each other. Very few students need guidance from adults to abide by the school rules. Occasionally, some pupils in early years or Key Stage 1 engage in overly boisterous play
Candidate requirements:
* Hold a minimum Level 2 TA qualification
* Experienced working within Key Stage 1, some experience in EYFS (reception) would also be beneficial for this role
* Calm and nurturing attitude
* Hold a Child Only DBS accessible on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
