Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant based in the Milton Keynes area. The role will be Full time hours starting in September 2022. If the individual enjoys a positive term in the school there is an opportunity to move onto a school-based contract, meaning the teaching assistant would be on a permanent school contract. The successful candidate does not have to have teaching assistant experience, but experience working with SEN in any area would be compulsory.

This is a new post within the Support for Learning Team, created to meet the increased number of students on roll with a formal diagnosis of ASD/ASC and a growth in the number of students demonstrating Communication and Interaction needs. You will report to the SENDCo and be expected to work with individual, pairs and small groups of students. You will be required to assess students' needs and plan, deliver and evaluate targeted interventions that develop students' understanding of need and knowledge of self-help strategies. You will also be required to monitor the academic progress of these students and work with them to address any underachievement in key areas of their learning.

Your role will involve raising the awareness of subject teachers in relation to Communication and Interaction Difficulties and giving advice to staff on effective practice for students on the Autistic Spectrum. You will be expected to liaise with parents and external agencies under the direction of the SENDCo and to alert the SENDCo to current research and development in the field.

The role

- Full time Hours starting in September 2022.

- Pay is a minimum of �70 per day.

- Payments are done on a PAYE basis with payments being made into the individuals a week in arrears.

- Opportunity to work towards a school contracted position (long term role).
