Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit numerous SEN mentors
Are you a kind, motivated and empathetic individual? We are seeking mentors for an SEN school in Eastbourne which caters to children aged 3-11 with varying special needs and learning disabilities. The school has an outstanding OFSTED report and is known to be a lovely education setting for pupils and staff, you will become part of a friendly and supportive team who have a wealth of expertise and are committed to the development of all staff. The ideal candidate for this role would have some experience assisting someone with special needs or learning difficulties either in a classroom setting, caring for someone with special needs or has mainstream teaching experience. The role is challenging yet rewarding so you will have to be patient, hardworking and have a good sense of humour to succeed in this role.
Key duties
- Assist teachers to provide the curriculum to students
- Tailor teaching approach to support the needs of pupils
- Establish relationships with pupils
- Prepare activities and resources prior to lessons
- Follow safeguarding procedures
Desired skills and experience
- NVQ level 2 in teaching or equivalent
- Good understanding of core subjects (English and maths)
- Experience supporting children, including those with special educational needs
- Polite and professional manner

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
