Why is digital so important? - When we talk about digital, we aren't just talking about technology. Digital supports people to access key services such as health and banking, as well opportunities around learning and employment. Digital opens the door to new businesses and our inclusive future in Manchester relies on it in many different ways!

What is the Manchester Digital Strategy all about?

Underpinned by four themes, the new Strategy sets out the vision for what we need to do to make sure :

- We have digitally skilled residents that are confident online users
- Future-proofed infrastructure that provides the right connectivity and support for residents and businesses
- A thriving digital economy which attracts businesses that support a resilient economy
- Focus on the role of digital in enabling us to reach our zero-carbon and climate goals.


The Digital Strategy also contributes to the delivery of the council's wider Our Manchester Strategy.

Digital Inclusion Team

Digital Inclusion is also at the heart of the Digital Strategy and for the Council to continue the delivery of the Digital Inclusion Action Plan at pace, we are looking for a Digital Inclusion Officer (Grade 6), who will sit within the libraries service with the Digital Inclusion Team.

What will you do in the roles?

Each day will be a different day for the role holder!

- There will be regular meetings workshops and conferences. Innovating new research and pilot projects to deliver key action.
- Presentations and facilitating space for stakeholders to connect, understand the strategy and work towards shared goals
- Creating, monitoring progress and reporting on metrics to keep us on track
- The Senior Digital Strategy Officer will spend a lot of time communicating the strategy and actions to people throughout the organisation, to get them to see how their work supports the strategys delivery.
