We are seeking a committed and experienced Principal Therapeutic Practitioner to join the Reparative Care Service, part of Children and Family Community Services on the beautiful Island of Guernsey , in the Channel Islands.
This is a Band 7 or Band 8A role with a salary of up to �67,429, plus an annual bonus and �5,000 relocation package with two years private rental allowance.

The Reparative Care Service is a multi-disciplinary team supporting children and young people with complex needs in a variety of settings including specialist foster care, residential care and adoptive placements.
You will provide leading specialist therapeutic services primarily for children and young people in addition to working with families and carers who have been referred to the Reparative Care Team with the aim of promoting placement stability and good outcomes for looked after children and adopted children through the provision of effective, timely and evidence-based support.
Reporting to the Team Manager, you will:
- work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team and HSC's policies and procedures.
- provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and psychological therapy. The emphasis is on delivering a high quality service, using evidence-based practice.
- utilise research skills for audit, policy and research within the area served by the teams / service.
- contribute to the provision of team services and fulfilment of team priorities and objectives.
- offer advice and consultation to non-psychological colleagues and to carers

This includes undertaking work with children subject to care requirements in accordance with the Children (Guernsey and Alderney) Law 2008 .
The Law has introduced fundamental and significant changes to how concerns relating to children and young people are dealt with and is based broadly on the Children's Hearing System in Scotland.

Person requirements :
- HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist.
- Experience in managing and delivering to the expected performance targets
- Ability to be self-reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision
- Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with children, young people and their families/carers accessing the Reparative Care Team.
- Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships
- Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to liaise and network with a wide range of organizations and members of the public
- Be in possession of a clean and current car driving licence; own vehicle required, (mileage expensed at full rate)
