Role Snapshot...

This role is key in helping to deliver a high quality and professional HR service for our stakeholders and to lead on the delivery of key HR project work for the One Team.

The role will involve both knowledge of HR process and best practice with a clear understanding of the project management discipline to support the delivery of an ambitious HR transformation plan and Organisation wide Delivery Plans. Projects will include a range of HR initiatives such as Diversity, Reward & Recognition, Engagement, Talent, Succession Planning, Development, Wellbeing and Policy Development.

Our HR and OD Team is a fast-paced team where we work closely with the organisation. In this role you will be part of an innovative and growing team who are striving for a first-class service. You will lead on the HR strands of projects, collaborating with the wider HR team to ensure the smooth delivery of all strategic objectives. What you'll be doing...

- Proactively research, interpret, develop, benchmark and evaluate effective people management solutions to meet the needs of the customers in collaboration with HR colleagues
- Promoting a culture of employee communication and engagement through delivery of HR interventions and acting as an employee champion and change agent
- Responsible for leading on the day-to-day project management of a range of key HR projects, seeking guidance from the Senior HR and OD Lead and working alongside the HR Lead Team where appropriate
- Reviewing and streamlining HR processes to maximise technological efficiencies/solutions for the councils
- Manage the contracts register for the HR/OD Team

You must have...

- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent relevant experience in a similar role, holding a professional membership
- Project Management qualification in the relevant field or working towards
- Demonstrate a high level and up to date level of understanding and knowledge of employment law and HR practice
- Experience of working in an HR environment and giving advice to managers
- Good analytical and IT skills
- Good communication skills and emotional intelligence including good listening skills and the ability to respond to the diverse needs of others
- Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of diversity, equality and safeguarding issues
- Commercially focused and results driven
- Creative problem solving approach with the ability to see what is possible (systems thinking)
