Higher Level Teaching Assistant needed
Location : Haslingden, Lancashire
Start date: 17 th April 2023, however the school can accommodate an earlier start date for the right candidate
Contract length: maternity cover, initially for two terms with the potential to extend
In this role, you will be a part of the Learning Support team in a Secondary School in the BB4 area of Lancashire, working with students who experience difficulties in accessing the curriculum.
The objective of this post is to provide support to targeted individual students, small groups, and classes during KS3 English lessons. The needs of the students will vary, ranging from Dyslexia to ASC.
The successful candidate will:
* Work with small groups of students within the main classroom to ensure students' progress and boost their confidence.
* Plan, prepare and deliver group work or team teaching with the main classroom teacher.
* Deliver interventions to targeted students focusing on pre- and post-teaching of English set texts, exams skills and vocabulary.
The general expectations of a HLTA include to progress students' learning and, with other professionals, to support pupils' social, emotional, and physical well-being.
The successful candidate must be reliable, hard-working and have excellent communication skills. It is necessary for you to also have qualifications in Maths or English equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
