Job Ref:

The Headteacher and SENCO of a reputable Primary School in CHORLEY are on the look out for a practitioner to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 4 (KS2). This role will be term time only and the working hours are 8:45-15:15 Monday-Friday.

This child sometimes struggles to engage in class and would benefit from 1:1 support from a candidate who has experience of working along-side 'hard to reach' pupils. Candidates with experience of differentiating activities and lessons to suit children working below age related expectations are welcome to apply. This is a new role in school and could materialise into a long-term position working alongside this child until he leaves school in Year 6.

This school boasts excellent facilities and resources for staff and the Headteacher encourages support staff to attend whole school CPD alongside the class teachers in order to upskill. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a support worker background or possibly a candidate with experience of working within an inner-city catchment area.

Following the appointment of the successful candidate ASAP, the role will continue until July 2023 on a temporary basis and will be reviewed following the Easter 2023 break with the view for the candidate to transition onto a permanent position in school from September 2023. This is a new and exciting opportunity in school and the Headteacher welcomes applications from candidates at all levels in their careers. Following the appointment, the headteacher will arrange a meeting with the Y4 class teacher to discuss planning and the child's interests to ensure for a successful transition. The Headteacher of this busy school is well respected both in school and within the wider community, therefore staffing requirements at this school rarely arise. This is an excellent opportunity and is not to be missed!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ's on the Teaching Personnel website for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
