We are currently seeking a HGV Driver in Abergavenny.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be driving a wagon & drag with Hiab transporting plant and equipment to various construction sites, surfacing projects and general road maintenance projects across the UK. 

You will also be be delivering and collecting plant equipment and be working on lifting and transporting cabins.

On a day to day basis, the successful candidate's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

Responsible for a Class 1 Hiab ensuring its inspected daily reporting defects and completing light maintenance i.e. greasing. 

Able to plan routes allowing for low bridges, weight limits ect depending on load. 

Transporting loads in STGO environment transporting abnormal loads under escort. 

Able to operate a variety of plant and equipment for loading and unloading duties. 

Be able to use delivery systems via tablet for work to be allocated and confirmed. 

Communicating with other team members and with site teams with regards to deliveries and collections. 

Securing Loads correctly to ensure loads are safe for transport. 

Have nights out in sleeper cab to maximise utilisation. 

Comply with RAMS for all duties. 

Able to work alternative shifts depending on work load i.e. Days, Nights & Weekend inline with working time regs. 

Attend refresher training for all qualifications to ensure competence for tasks. 

Manage Driving and Working time in accordance with all UK & EU regulations. 

Working hours will be 6:30am-5pm Monday to Friday.
The Ideal CandidateTo be considered for this position, it is essential that any prospective candidates have experience of the following:

Class 1 experience transporting plant. 

Experience operating Hiab’s.  

Experience operating Plant at a basic level. 

Experience with Abnormal loads under STGO guidelines. 

Experience securing plant and equipment. 

Although not essential, having a CSCS card would also be of benefit.
