SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) - Level 2 qualified or above with 3 months school-based experience

An Ofsted graded 'GOOD' primary school located close by to Chorley town centre are looking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant who is a specialist in providing SEN support to work on a 1:1 basis with a child within the Year 3 class. The child has recently joined the school in January 2023. The pupil has been identified to have moderate learning difficulties and some social and emotional difficulties. Therefore, as a result the Head Teacher is keen to secure a practitioner who is confident building rapport with children with SEMH and somebody who is confident de-escalating challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will provide full-time support to the child in order to enable them to access and engage appropriately with mainstream school life. The working hours for this role are 8:30-15:30 Monday-Friday.

In order to be successful in your application, you must have at least 3 months prior experience in a similar role; this can either be in a mainstream Primary or Secondary School, a Specialist Provision or as a Support Worker or Carer.

SEN Teaching Assistant role

* 5 days per week, working 1:1 with a child in Year 3 with MLD, SEMH difficulties and some challenging behaviour. Working hours are 8:45-15 Monday-Friday.
* Learning strategies from the school SENCo and also other established SEN Teaching Assistants, with use of your own prior experience.
* Working closely with parents to ensure cohesion between school and home.
