We are looking for both experienced Social Workers and those who are newly qualified to join our fantastic team. As an Adult Social Care Community Team, we work generically with a wide range of people with varying presenting needs. Main ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a Social Worker to join our Team. As a Social Worker in the team you will work with residents of North East Somerset who may be in need in of social care support

We are delegated to deliver B&NES Council’s statutory social care function for adults who may have care and support needs as outlined in the Care Act 2014
You will primarily be undertaking assessments under the Care Act 2014. This involves direct work with individuals, families and professionals, report writing, support planning, Carer’s Assessments and Mental Capacity Assessments
You will also be expected to undertake safeguarding enquiries under S.42 (Care Act 2014). attending safeguarding meetings and practicing in accordance to ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ principles
You will also work with individuals around self-neglect concerns in accordance with BANES self-neglect policy

The Ideal CandidateYou must be qualified with a social work degree or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.

Hold a Full UK Driver’s License and have access to a car/vehicle

You will have experience of working with adults in need of support and have a working knowledge of effective models of strength based personalised assessments, knowledge of current research and a working knowledge of current legislation.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
