The Head Teacher and Governors of a small primary school in Skelmersdale are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to provide support in their Year 1 class, starting 20 th February 2023. The position will be temporary to permanent, initially working through Teaching Personnel on a PAYE contract.
The school is a long-standing Ofsted graded 'GOOD' primary school, located in a rural area of Skelmersdale. In spite of this, it is situated close to the M58 and is therefore easily accessible via car or public transport. The school is small in size and offer places to children from Nursery up to Year 6. The school prides themselves on the 'family feel' that is experienced across the setting.
Job Specification:
ESSENTIAL
- Level 2 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or similar/higher)
- Prior experience of working alongside Primary-aged children
- High quality delivery of teaching and learning
- Excellent standards in English and Maths
- Strong ability to follow the instruction of Class Teachers with use of your own initiative
DESIRABLE
- Prior experience of supporting in a primary school, ideally in Key Stage 1
- An excellent understanding of teaching and learning in Phonics
