Design Technology Teacher - Middlesbrough
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Design Technology Teacher at one of our Ofsted 'good' secondary school, with a positive reputation in Middlesbrough. Starting in February 2023 on a temporary basis with the opportunity for the role to become permanent. Flexibility within the timetable to consider all DT teachers.
The school are looking for a candidate who is highly knowledgeable across the subject and can engage pupils in their studies.

* Planning, marking, and delivering a full Design Technology timetable across KS3 - KS4 in line with the current curriculum
* Located in Middlesbrough
Details of the role
* To implement and deliver an appropriate, broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Design Technology curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
* To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the subject
* To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
* To share and support the academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
The successful candidate will
* Hold a UK recognised QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
* Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
* Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
* Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students
* Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 level for DT, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
* Have knowledge in multiple areas of the subject, eg. Resistant Materials, Graphic Design, Engineering
* Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
* Have a good level of ICT skills
* Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies
* Be able to communicate positively, both written and verbally
