Are you passionate about the wellbeing of others and would like to be involved with the development of children with PMLD? We are working with a College in Consett (DH8) that has a focus of providing exceptional standards of education provision for young adults (16-18). We are looking for an experienced Support Assistant who can support the students to develop their independence and learning. This could include daily activities, personal care, learning support, medication, and taking part in various hobbies and life skills.
The school are happy to consider staff with experience in School settings and Alternative Provisions, Care backgrounds and those with experience of Health and Social Care qualifications. The role is due start ASAP and is expected to continue on a long term basis.
We are able to negotiate hourly rate on your behalf starting from �10.77.
Experience
- Must Hold an enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one
- Knowledge of multi-sensory impairments / learning difficulties
- Previous experience in working with SEN children required

- Moving and Manual handling Responsibilities
- Supporting students to engage in lessons
- Managing challenging behaviours
- Providing support with personal and intimate care
