You will be the specialist who will provide technical advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, building fabric, and utility services across the Royal Stoke University Hospital estate. What you'll bring:

 


Fully competent (AP Appointed) in the fault diagnosis, repair and testing of Medical devices to include and not limited to - Medical/Surgical air compressors, Medical vacuum systems, AGSS (Anesthetic gas scavenging system), Medical Gas manifold and ERM (Emergency Reserve Manifold) (HTM02-01, HTM02-02)
Fully competent (AP Appointed) in the fault diagnosis, repair and testing of PSSR regulated equipment – Steam distribution systems, LTHW heating systems, Steam generators/Boilers and steam hotwells.
Completion of C+G/Btec or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, recognized mechanical apprenticeship, time served


What you’ll do: 


Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment within the hospital estate, carrying out a range of repairs and new works to a high standard.  You will be responsible for the service, installation, maintenance, and testing of complex ­­­­systems.
Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace
Actively champion a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff
Carry out Planned Maintenance of mechanical plant in line with Manufacturers recommendations.
Test equipment calibration and sources of error.
Have ability and willingness to work across trades within the sphere of their technical competency, eg. Minor mechanical repairs and making safe building fabric etc
Use of IT systems to provide/ monitor data within the Quality Assurance and other management reporting systems
Complete written and verbal shift reports at the end of shifts to inform the next shift and any issues from the previous shift and handover of any jobs
To be able to work well with other team members and monitor other shift members work load
Comparison and utilisation of technical documents as issued by the Department of Health.
The safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment within the PFI Hospital site. Carrying out a wide range of repairs and new works to a high standard. Working on own initiative when applicable or as part of a team. 
Supporting the Engineering Management team to ensure contractual response and rectification times are met. Producing required support documentation reports to meet contractual r
Undertake Authorised Person and or Competent Person responsibilities in relation to specified systems.
Ensuring services comply in accordance with the Project Agreement, legislative, statutory and HTM requirements
