We are currently looking for an experienced Finance Analyst to join our team based in Solihull, Birmingham (hybrid working pattern 2 days in the office per week).

Main ResponsibilitiesThe Finance Analyst will provide commercial reporting and insight in relation to the Packed Products business line (Packed Cement, Packed Aggregates and Specialist) as well as leading on the management of customer rebates. Work closely with the Finance Manager, Commercial and other teams across the business to help clarify understanding of key drivers, influence profitability and assist in driving growth.
• Provide reporting and analysis to support commercial activities of the packed business on Volumes, Revenue & Prices
• Lead on the end to end management of customer rebates – from system set-up, accounting/reporting, payment and liaising with key account managers and customers
• Support the production of the month end reporting pack and other standardised reports, providing commentary and analysis on commercial performance to the senior team
• Support the finance manager with the commercial forecasting process and outputs working closely with commercial managers and sales and operational planning teams
• Lead on customer profitability reviews
• Lead on the monthly balance sheet recs and process controls for customer rebates in the Packed business
• Lead on the month end close process for sales/ rebates including the preparation of accruals and pricing checks through reviews with customer services/ commercial teams.
• Supporting the commercial team with the update of pricing schedules and assisting with major pricing updates/ pricing of new products as required
• Analysing trends and performance using data querying tools (Business warehouse) to feed into forecasts and long-term financial planning
• Build good working relationships with Senior Commercial Managers and Key Account Managers (KAMs) and assist with ad hoc queries and support
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self starter with strong analytical and financial modelling skills and is comfortable working in a fast paced corporate environment.
Qualified Accountant or Finalist ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
Experienced Finance Analyst or have proven financial management experience in an analytical or decision support role.
The ability to learn and map end to end financial and system processes
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to identify and drive process change and improvement
Well developed communication skills with demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management skills
Experience with using data query/ management tools (e.g Business warehouse, Access, SQL, Business Objects) and a financial ERP system

Previous experience with managing customer rebates Desirable Experience
Previous experience within the building products industry
Experience of working in a challenging matrix environment / large business plc.
Experience with SAP/ business warehouse
