We are looking for a dedicated SEN Tutor to join our team and contribute to the transformative CFO project.Your Responsibilities:Empower Prisoners: Provide opportunities for prisoners to gain skills and competencies that assist them in reintegrating into the community without re-offending.Support Complex Needs: Assist prisoners with complex needs who require additional support or advanced learning programs to achieve their full rehabilitative potential and enhance their skills.Collaborate on Projects: Work closely with the Neurodiversity Support Manager and the Project Leader of CFO Evolution to improve the quality of provision for prisoners with neurodiverse needs, ensuring project service delivery targets are met.Cross-Department Coordination: Liaise with other departments to ensure all learners with neurodiverse needs are supported in developing self-confidence, independence, and improving their knowledge and skills.As a working prison, HMP Northumberland work towards the resettlement of prisoners upon their release into the community and their integration into society through the skills acquired while in our care. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.For more information on Sodexo Careers please visit Sodexo CareersMain Responsibilities:Ensure the training and supervision of prisoners.Achieve a Good or above in un-announced lesson observations carried out at regular intervals throughout the year.Take an active part to ensure that the CFOE project runs smoothly each day, dealing with requests for information from both prisoners and colleagues.Be compliant to ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed within the department.Promote aspects of Personal Development relevant to neurodiverse learners.Ensure the identified number of learners are retained and achieve the recognised City & Guilds qualifications being delivered.Ensure service delivery targets are met each year.Please see attached job description for further information regarding the role requirements.The Ideal Candidate:EssentialFull teaching qualification (Minimum of CTLLS.)A minimum of two years of qualified teaching experience.A good understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) code of practice.Recognised Level 3 qualification or above in an identified subject and professional. experience focusing on a particular learning difficulty, such as dyslexia or autism.To have an interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders.To have an ability to communicate effectively at all times through different mediums, including spoken and written communication.The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour.Patience, understanding and empathy with learners.A positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook.DesirableExperience of working in a custodial or prison environment.Assessor or Internal Verification qualification.
