descriptionJob IntroductionThis job puts good food on the table.As a Food Service
Assistant at Sodexo in Ipswich Hospital, you’ll play an important part in
preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient
recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help
maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas.With a cheerful

thrive in your way.What you’ll do:Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meals and refreshments safely, accurately, and on time, ensuring dietary needs and allergies are followed.Maintain high standards of food hygiene, infection control, and cleanliness across ward kitchens, equipment, crockery, and utensils.Provide a friendly, courteous, and professional service to patients, visitors, and ward staff, supporting patient comfort and satisfaction.Manage stock control, food wastage monitoring, documentation, audits, and compliance with all legal, company, and quality standards.Work effectively as part of the ward and catering team, reporting issues, equipment faults, and delays while following all policies and safety procedures.What you bring:A passion for delivering tasty, nutritious food with carePrevious experience working within a similar roleA friendly, professional attitude and respect for patients, visitors, and colleaguesBasic food-handling knowledge and hygiene awareness, Level 2 food hygieneThe ability to stay on your feet and work efficiently during busy service periodsWhat we offer:Working at Sodexo isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to
