General Manager – Catering OperationsSalary: Up to £45,000 per annumContract: Full Time | Monday to FridayWe are looking for an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to lead catering operations across a large workplace campus. This is a high‑profile role overseeing a diverse, multi‑outlet food and beverage offer, including a staff restaurant, street food bistro, coffee shop, as well as multiple self‑serve coffee machines and vending operations across the site.This role is ideal for a confident leader with a strong background in campus or multi‑outlet catering, a passion for client engagement, and a proven ability to drive performance, innovation, and growth.About the RoleAs General Manager, you will have full accountability for operational performance, financial results, and client relationships across the campus. You will play a key role in shaping the future food offer, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring services consistently exceed expectations.You will lead and develop on‑site management and operational teams, ensuring service excellence, commercial discipline, and operational effectiveness across all outlets.Key ResponsibilitiesOverall leadership and accountability for multi‑outlet catering operations across the campusOversight of staff restaurant, street food bistro, coffee shop, vending, and coffee machinesAct as the primary client contact, building strong, trusted, and collaborative relationshipsFull P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and commercial performanceDrive operational effectiveness, service consistency, and high food and customer experience standardsIdentify and support future growth opportunities, innovation, and service developmentLead, motivate, and develop management and frontline teamsEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and company standardsDeliver agreed KPIs, SLAs, and contractual objectivesManage staffing structures, recruitment, training, and succession planningAbout YouProven experience managing multi‑outlet catering operations, ideally across a campus or large workplace environmentStrong commercial acumen with demonstrable full P&L responsibilityConfident, professional, and credible client‑facing leaderExperience leading and developing large, diverse catering teamsPassionate about food, service quality, and continuous improvementHighly organised with the ability to balance operational detail and strategic thinkingStrong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skillsCompass Group UK&I is committed to fostering an environment where every individual can truly be themselves at work and has equal opportunities to advance in their careers.
