Pinnacle Group is looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative. To join our Total FM Team for Leeds & Kirklees PFI Schools, based at our Morley Depot - Leeds LS27, to ensure our outdoor spaces are well-maintained and visually appealing.Our Total Facilities Management team delivers integrated asset management and maintenance services across education, leisure, corporate, health and residential sectors. We focus on keeping facilities running smoothly, safely, and efficiently – helping our clients create spaces that work for everyone.Your responsibilities will include mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting, weeding, and general landscape upkeep of the contracted sites. With over thirty years of experience, we deliver expert, place-based management and maintenance solutions that enhance the everyday lives of the communities we serve.We’re a people-first organisation with a values-driven culture that has stood the test of time -reflected in the way we care for both our employees and our customers.Who we’re looking forWe’re looking for someone who not only meets the key criteria below but also embraces our core values – Trust, Respect, Involve, Challenge, and Deliver Excellence – and is committed to earning and maintaining the confidence of our clients and communities.Key responsibilities will include:The sites will need to be visited on weekly/fortnightly basis with schedules set in place for ease of working and getting around to each development in a timely manner.The safe use of ride-on mowers, rotary mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers and other horticultural machinesSoil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, and pruningLawn maintenance and repairs, bed preparation and planting, Hedge and shrub trimmingKeeping the borders clear and free from debris and litter at all timesGritting, salt spreading and snow clearing when requiredTo keep the tools clean and damage-free, report to manager when necessaryEnsuring that all visited locations are left in a clean and tidy stateMaintenance of records relating to tasks performed, materials and equipmentPromotion of safe working practicesSkills RequiredSelf-motivated and can work unsupervisedResilient under pressure and able to adapt to changing environmentsExperience in using gardening power toolsAbility to work to laid-down schedules and in all weather conditionsChemical and hand weed control (PA1/ PA6 are desirable but training can be provided)Knowledge of the use of chemicals (COSHH) and Health and Safety legislation is desirable.To meet the child safeguarding regulations, the appointment to this role will be subject to completion of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check) & checkable Work References.Our offerWe believe that diversity makes us stronger.
