Business Development Telemarketer
Manchester
Permanent/Full Time
Salary up to £35,000 per annum

The key purpose of this role is to provide direct telemarketing to source new business. You will make contact with prospects and make appointments for the sales team.

This will be managed via an electronic database which you will develop and maintain in order that a comprehensive diarised database is created & utilised to maximise the potential available.

Key responsibilities:
• Develop, create and maintain a computerized customer & prospect database with relevant contact information & a follow up system in place.
• Plan and carry out direct marketing activities to make appointments with decision makers over the telephone to target organisations, keeping to agreed volumes, costs, product mix & timescales for the sales team to pre-agreed business targets.
• Implement and keep an organized diary in relation to follow up calls, follow up letters and manage your time effectively to cover a range of marketing activities
• Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information
• Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys
• Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development

Skills and Experience:
• Experience of lead management and telemarketing gained within the insurance industry
• Experience of diary and lead management when booking appointments for the sales team
• Strong business focus and experience in a results driven environment in order to achieve departmental NB targets
• Accustomed to delivering in demanding high paced organizations
• Strong customer focus
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels
• Planning and Organising: Able to demonstrate structured and organised thinking to achieve results and manage workload effectively
• Good Excel and database skills
