Randstad Engineering is recruiting for an experienced Material Planner to join a leading business based in Peterlee. The Material Planner will be responsible for planning, coordination and support of material flow throughout busy and fast paced manufacturing facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading global business. Responsibilities: Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. Responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc. Review and approve documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications Review and approve documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labour or material shortages or other interruptions Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments Confer with establishment personnel, vendors and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities and resolve complaints or eliminate delays Education/Experience Proven experience in a similar fast paced material / supply chain planning role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills Strong ability to analyse costs related to manufacturing, labour and materials Strong ability to accurately document and record customer/client information PC literate with working knowledge MS office, in particular Excel (minimum Intermediate level including Vlookup, pivot tables and filters, Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
