Job Title: Network Optimisation Manager Department: PMO Location: Flexible but ideally centrally based Salary: Circa 35K + Car/Allowance Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term  Job Purpose: To propose, support and deliver improvements in Network operational efficiency, evaluating and demonstrating efficiencies and cost reduction with the objective to deliver enhanced profitability. To maintain a detailed overview of Network unit capacity to ensure continuity of operations on future and current projects. Provide this information to enable decision making in future Supply Chain proposals. To support other areas of the business in scoping, evaluating and implementing proposed projects that impact on Operations. Work effectively with other areas of Alliance Boots, Suppliers and Customers in delivering efficiencies and reducing cost. Principal Accountabilities: 1. To ensure we have detailed visibility of the current status of our Network capacity and can evaluate accurately the impact of any proposed changes, both operational and financial, the role requires a detailed knowledge of the business and the ability to perform complex and detailed analysis, producing accurate information to support decision making. This also enables the role to identify and present new or alternative solutions that will enhance the Alliance Healthcare Network. 2. When evaluating proposed projects to identify the operational and financial impact, the methodology and approach is autonomous and rely on the skills and knowledge of the role to produce accurate results and findings. As the role covers the whole of the Alliance Healthcare distribution network, it also provides the opportunity to propose solutions to specific projects. 3. Although there is no direct budget responsibility, there is significant financial accountability in presenting detailed costs and operational impact as part of any proposal. This will be a major factor in the acceptance and continuance of any project. The role also has financial accountability when involved in the implementation of projects to complete within agreed budget and benefits. The role also involves negotiating major projects to achieve the most cost effective solutions 4. To maintain a detailed overview of capacity and throughput capability within Alliance Healthcare distribution network and understand the constraints. To provide recommendations/solutions to investigation, analysis and presentation of findings on business projects that impact on the Alliance Healthcare network. 5. To provide technical Logistics and analytical expertise to support the operation. 6. To support the delivery of large Change programmes within cost, timescale and agreed benefit. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: · Knowledge of Opti-site Software is an advantage · Understanding of Operations and Supply Chain functions within the Pharmaceutical Wholesale environment. · Advanced user skills for MS Excel, Data analysis, Access, Word and Power point. Good user skills for Cognos IA (Alliance Healthcare database) and Leonardo. · Understanding of Business IT systems. · Excellent analytical skills to produce detailed reports, recommendations and solutions. · Ability to communicate effectively both within the organisation as well as Suppliers and Customers, across all levels of the business to board level. · Very good operational knowledge of Warehouse management & design, including various warehouse equipment (automation, racking, MHE etc.) and optimal product layout. Key Dimensions: A large part of the role is project based and these can be of significant value. Within these projects the role carries financial responsibility for specific areas. Also the role involves having to provide cost information, which forms part of a project budget Additional Information: · Data analysis · Company systems & Microsoft Office Travel to Service Centres and Customers will be required Reasonable Flexibility in terms of Core Hours and working away from home is required
