Application Delivery and Implementation Manager We have a great opportunity within our Finance Business Applications team to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract as an Application Delivery and Implementation Manager based from our head office in Bromley. Finance Business Applications administer and maintain six main financial applications for Direct Line Group as well several locally developed applications on several platforms. These systems handle all financial recording, reporting and forecasting processing over 30 million transactions and £4bn of payments a year. The team provides first and second line support for these systems, including the checking the integrity of interfaces, provision of user access and the operation of key controls. They are also responsible for driving system improvements and provide configuration, development, process and technical SME and change delivery expertise. The Application Delivery and Implementation Manager is responsible for overseeing the build and delivery of changes resulting from business led projects, ensuring an effective and controlled implementation is delivered into the live environment. The role will also deliver effective new or changed processes / practices into the Business Applications team through a team of application owners and technical experts. What being an Application Delivery and Implementation Manager involves Own and manage the delivery of change for core Financial Applications, ensuring the implementation is controlled, following the DLG change management and Financial control frameworks Minimise risk by assessing the impact of changes to Financial Applications; ensuring appropriate testing has been conducted and that the impact to controls is understood Ensure new systems and processes are documented to the required standard and this has been accepted into the Business as Usual teams Review, challenge / approve technical change requests impacting financial application platforms by DLG and 3rd party service providers on behalf of Finance Own and manage the Forward Schedule of Change / Workstack for Finance Applications Manage the maintenance and allocation to projects of finance owned development / test environments Build maintenance plans for the Financial Applications, considering current and future business initiatives and vendor support requirements Skills we are looking for Ability to understand the aims and requirements of the wider business and how that impacts upon Finance Knowledge of Insurance products and terminology Part qualified Accountant or qualified by experience Experience of delivering change in a Finance environment, the risks and how this can be mitigated Experience leading a team Able to communicate with both business and technical colleagues Knowledge of Financial Applications and requirements Able to review proposed "sequence of events" for a change implementation plan Understanding of MI platforms and the data integrity required for success Knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite is an advantage
