Known internally as the People Operations Advisor, We are looking for a HR Advisor to join our People Services team here in Leeds city centre on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave (up to September / October 2018). Duties of the HR Advisor: Providing proactive, specialist advice and guidance to managers who are leading the resolution of casework Tracking employee relations plans against agreed metrics, recommending areas for improvement. Ensuring accurate reporting and escalation of any significant business issue or risk Constructively challenging decisions or actions where appropriate. Building effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Regularly reviewing people operations documentation to ensure all documents and templates are kept up to date and in line with current legislation. Supporting training and coaching colleagues and managers in understanding and complying with people operations policies and practices Leading on specific people projects that deliver tangible improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the people service Requirements of the HR Advisor: The successful candidate will have substantial experience of managing and leading a large caseload of employee relations issues Experience working as an HR generalist with an excellent grasp of employment law and HR policy You will take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of a high quality and efficient service to our internal customers This will entail you having a continuous improvement mind-set and being an effective communicator, both written and verbally You will inspire others to be accountable for their own actions and ensure that expectations and standards of behaviour / performance are clearly communicated by managers You will be results / outcomes focused, highly organised and be able to work effectively under pressure Finally you will be adaptable and resilient to change and demonstrate initiative to work both independently and collaboratively.
