Engine Dyno Technician is required to join a leading automotive company based in Essex. The successful candidate will interface with workshop and test facilities department to prepare engines for dyno testing, performance, and emissions calibration development to homologation stage. Responsibilities: Ensure that calibration dynos are operating with representative engine hardware (i.e. ordering/receiving and updating of parts) Specify and arrange installation of required instrumentation with relevant workshop groups Working knowledge of the application and delivery of measurement systems and equipment Support various controlled test on various Powertrain units Accurate collection and validation of data to prove integrity Implement, monitor and document daily check point strategy for each engine/dyno; provide quality check of the data collected Initial assessment of engine performance data (i.e. perform dyno data quality check/ Gauge R&R) Liaise with supporting staff, engineers, supervisors and customers on a technical level Support implement implementation of test plans to support inter- and external-dyno team activities (e.g. providing support to durability dynos) Provide support to test area for system fault diagnosis. Skills Required: Knowledge of Dyno cell equipment and engine installation components Experience of Diesel Engines, a knowledge of their design Experienced in dealing with workshop environment/processes Sufficient knowledge and skills to enable first line fault diagnosis Experience of calibration tools an advantage
