Main responsibilitiesAs a Clinical Research Nurse 2, you will participate in the creation and maintenance of a high quality clinical research environment, to initiate and manage nursing activities related to clinical trials, from initiation to termination, according to ICH/GCP guidelines and to ensure the commercial success of the Centre by recruiting and maintaining optimum patient numbers. Key roles and responsibilities of the Clinical Research Nurse 2 are:


Performing all visits, observations, safety reporting, and interventions with the participants in accordance with procedures and schedule of the study protocol, company SOP’s and policies
Completing all relevant clinical competency training assessments, and attend all relevant research study protocol training, and complete all mandatory training, according to the Synexus COP’s/SOP’s
Promoting studies; carrying out pre-screening efficiently and effectively to optimise patient recruitment
Encouraging patients to continue within the study, and to participate in future trials
Supporting and promoting research centre strategies within the local community when required
Collecting, records, verifies and enters study data into the source notes, CRF/eCRF, and all associated paperwork, with a high degree of accuracy
Ensuring that all data queries are acted upon in a timely and efficient manner
Promoting and nurtures a welcoming, professional and pleasant environment for staff and participants
Participating in multidisciplinary meetings
Initiating emergency action when required e.g. cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis management, fire, or critical incidents
Identifying opportunities to increase patient numbers, keeping aware of recruitment deadlines

Ideal candidateTo be successful in the role of Clinical Research Nurse 2, you would likely have:A


Registration with no limitations to practice within the Nursing and Midwifery Council(Adult)
The ability to manage multiple research studies with minimum supervision
Awareness of research governance issues
An understanding of the research process
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Clinical skills competency and laboratory processing competency
