Snr Operations Manager (Refurbishment & Fit out industry) - Kempston, Bedfordshire

£60 to £80k plus bonus and lots of extras

My client is looking for a Snr Operations Manager (Director Designate) to manage, organise and fine tune the operations of the business in order to make the business more efficient and profitable and to provide strategic input to help the business grow.

They work predominantly in the Hospitality sector specialising in creative interior and exterior refurbishment projects for pubs, clubs, hotels, social clubs and other leisure establishments. They can manage all or part of your project, always minimising disruption and maximising impact. Giving you added value and extra trade.
For the right individual who can add substantial value to the business, this is an opportunity to become a key part of the management team. Supported by the Management team, the Senior Operations Manager will enjoy a significant level of autonomy and will have almost total responsibility for the operations of the business. There is the possibility for the right candidate to obtain equity in the business

Role Profile:
Provide leadership of the operations team, setting objectives and targets. The appointee will be responsible for the development and support of the individual members of the operations team.
Be an ambassador for the business building strong relationships with new and existing clients in order to maintain and improve client retention rates.
Identify commercial risks within each account and provide viable suggestions on how to manage the risk identified, to ensure profits are maximised.
Ensure that company policies and procedures are complied with and that documentation is maintained. Where deficiencies are identified initiate the appropriate corrective action.
Represent the company at site visits, presentations and other meetings as required, in order to develop relationships with existing and potential customers.
Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director to ensure contracts are commercially attractive and serviceable.
Communicate effectively with colleagues across the company.

Skills and Competencies Required:
Must have proven experience and a working knowledge of operational management in the refurbishment and fit out industry
Experience of developing and executing a strategic plan, in a robust and disciplined manner.
Experience of working in an SME.
Accomplished at conflict resolution, negotiation and other interpersonal skills.
Strong commercial understanding
First-rate listening skills, strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
Outstanding strategic skills and ability to provide strategic direction.
Ability to demonstrate operational success in previous roles.
