Procurement Engineer- Fixed Term Contract Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 a year (salary negotiable depending upon experience) Location: Gloucester, Oxford, Banbury, Swindon, Malmesbury, Chippenham, Shrivenham, Wiltshire, South West. The Client: Our client is a growing and well respected manufacturing company. The Role: My client is looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer who has experience working within a purchasing role within manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working in tooling manufacture and will focus on developing short term and future procurement strategy for line improvement projects and future new model projects. The role will initially be a 12 month fixed term contract with potential to become a permanent role. Main Responsibilities Will Include: * New supplier investigation and development * Supporting Group Leader with all Group business plan activity * Working with Engineering planning groups to understand future project requirements * Compiling cost spreadsheets for cost comparison activity, and developing cost down strategy. * Liaising with other departments with regards to spec, delivery schedules, trials, cost etc. * All day to day purchasing group activity Applicants Should Have: * Experience in tooling manufacture. * Understanding of Body in white accuracy. * Must have good communication skills and be able to present clearly to Senior Management. * Understanding of engineering drawings (paper and Cad). * Flexibility to support other projects as workload demands. * Computer literate in MS word, Excel & PowerPoint - be able to analyse data, input data into structured XL sheets and interpret data to ensure correct input. * Flexible and adaptable to constantly changing requirements of the business. * Recognized relevant Engineering qualifications or relevant Business study qualifications. * Highly motivated with good time keeping skills and ability to work to strict deadlines Additional Requirements: * Fully qualified or working towards CIPS is advantageous * Demonstrable ability to investigate, analyse and problem solve and implement appropriate countermeasures, where appropriate * Experience working within an automotive/engineering/construction environment would be advantageous, specifically an understanding of Body in White accuracy To Apply: In the first instance phone Flora Donnelly on ************** alternatively email your details to ********************************
