Job Title - Maintenance Engineer

Location - Tilbury

Salary - �42,000 inclusive of shift allowance, plus Overtime (OTE �45k+)

Shifts - 3 shift rotation (Mon - Fri, 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm / 10pm to 6am)

The Company

Founded at the turn of 20 th century, our client has over 110 years of expertise in the Logistics Market. With thousands of sites across 200 Countries and Principalities, and nearly 110,000 vehicles world wide, our client are the largest Automated Distribution and Logistics business in the world!

With four fully automated distribution hubs around the UK, and 50 smaller logistics hubs around the country, the business continues to expand and has just openned up a new Super Hub in Tilbury to service London and the Home Counties. The site will be able to process 28,000 parcel per hour, making it their largest sortation hub outside of the US.

The Tilbury site will consist of fully automated Conveyors, boom loaders, shoe sorters, tilt trays, pick and place robots, for which the team of Maintenance Engineers will be responsible for Maintaining during it's 24/7 operation.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for all reactive breakdown and planned preventative Maintenance tasks. With the site being brand new, the focus will be heavily weighted towards Planned Preventative work (80%). As and when breakdowns occur the Maintenance Engineer will be required to fault find through to components and change the faulty part.

The role is truly multiskilled, with the Maintenance Engineer required to perform both Electrical and Mechanical work. Electrical components include 3 phase motors, inverters, drives, proximity and limit switches, photocells, vision systems, contactors, trips, relays and safety circuits. Mechanical systems include bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sprockets, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, gearboxes and shafts.

The Maintenance Engineer would be expected to be able to fault find using a multimeter against electrical drawings, plus interrogate the PLCs via the HMIs. There is no need for Programming or code alteration as this is done by the Controls Engineers.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

* Must have previous experience working as a Maintenance or Service Engineer on automated lines.
* Must have a recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
* Must be truly multiskilled.
* Must be able to fault find with a Multimeter on electrical systems.
