Our dynamic and forward thinking Business Change and Innovation Team have an exciting opportunity to join them as a software developer, specialising in the TIBCO suite of products.

We are seeking someone who possesses a wealth of experience as an accomplished TIBCO Software Developer in their own right; but also someone who will be self-motivated, driven, has a genuine interest in innovative technologies, and who is looking to make a real difference in our organisation.

We’re looking for a brilliant individual to provide expertise, direction and delivery of significant architectural transitions, enabling Skipton’s IT platforms for the future.  The role requires an experienced developer who has been heavily involved in software product development and has used TIBCO’s suite of products. We want to solve problems for our customers and deliver them brilliant experiences by bringing together great minds to reach our goals.

Main responsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to deliver software solutions for systems used both internally within the Society, but most prominently externally by our customers. You will collaborate with other members of Business Change and Innovation team to deliver large and small scale projects alike.

You will input into the development of a service orientated approach and the design of integration architecture; although we’ll expect you to adhere to defined integration architecture, service architecture and other applicable standards & governance in line with our strategy and priorities, we’d also like you to use your wider knowledge and experience in software engineering to influence and challenge our team and utilise external sources to drive continuous improvements and procedural innovation.

We’re looking for someone who really understands our customers and stakeholders and who will be progressive to meet and exceed their needs and expectations. We’ll expect you to take ownership of tasks, show commitment through to completion, and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage your time to maximise value for yourself and others.

Working as part of a vibrant team, consisting of Developers, Testers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Architects you’ll be responsible for helping drive the Society forward in the ever evolving technology arena. You will also work collaboratively with people from across the wider Society on sometimes large scale, complex and strategic transformation projects.
Ideal candidateThis is just a snapshot of the role so we are looking for someone who is self-motivated, driven, and looking to make a difference to an organisation. You will input into the design, development and delivery of significant architectural transitions, enabling Skipton’s IT platforms for the future.

Of course, we are looking for a range of technical skills, however strong experience of TIBCO BusinessWorks (BW), TIBCO Enterprise Message Service (EMS) and TIBCO API Exchange (APIX) is important. In addition, knowledge of SOA, API governance through the API lifecycle, JSON, XML, SOAP, REST, and messaging patterns (response reply, pub-sub, etc) would also be advantageous.

You will have demonstrable track record of software product development adhering to product roadmaps and executing common product based solutions to multiple clients

Having the right attitude is paramount for the role. Having strong communication and problem solving skills will enable you to support BC&I to deliver work to the highest standards. Your role will be varied and you will be working on diverse systems and software, therefore having an eye for detail and being flexible in your approach is crucial for success.

Clearly communicating and working collaboratively with other business areas and technical stakeholders is vital within the role as this assists in enabling a smooth service transition throughout the software development lifecycle that delivers solutions for both our colleagues within the Society, but most importantly our customers.
