Here at Compass Group we are currently recruiting for a Head of Financial Accounting & Control to lead the Financial Accounts and Control team in the delivery of a robust, proactive financial information and control service to the Finance and Operating teams. This is broad financial reporting role in a FTSE 30 business with a vast amount of exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

Package description£60k +, and additional benefits 
Main responsibilitiesReporting in to the Finance Director – Control and Compliance, you will contribute to the overall UK Finance vision and strategy for people, process improvement and change management. You will lead and direct a team of 2, indirect circa. 12, covering technical and central accounting areas such as provisions, insurance, pensions etc. and monthly balance sheet and cash flow consolidation for Compass Group UK & Ireland. In addition, you will manage and report monthly working capital position including understanding of the position and providing and communicating actions plans to approve. Not only do you gain exposure to senior stakeholders within the Compass Group UK & Ireland business, you will also provide management reporting to Compass Group Plc and act as the key contact and UK representative for Group led projects relevant to finance.
Ideal candidateFor us to be right for you, and for you to be right for us, you will be ACA qualified or equivalent. With a number of years spent in practice, you will also have gained industry experience where you have experience in interpreting IFRS and implementing new standards. Due to the nature of this role, you will be motivated to drive change, motivated to develop and motivated to lead and engage your team, previous people management experience is essential. Your stakeholder management skills will be second-to-none, you will have demonstrable skills in influencing, challenging, negotiating and partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.  With a high-level of numeric, analytical and evaluation skills you will not be adverse to rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with data.
