We are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to assist a well-established company with a beautiful office set in the town centre of Bury St Edmunds. This is a fixed term contract position, covering maternity leave from the beginning of July 2018. The successful candidate will be assisting a highly professional and welcoming organisation. An attractive salary of £22,000 is offered and working hours are Monday-Friday 9am- 5:30pm. The role provides day to day support to the Finance Director, including (but not limited to) the following responsibilities: Maintaining an accurate record of bookkeeping transactions Assisting with cash flow forecasting Preparing weekly, monthly & ad-hoc payment runs Supporting the purchase ledger function Responsible for processing all expense claims Verifying CIS calculations, reconciling monthly CIS returns & issuing monthly CIS statements Assisting with VAT returns & reconciliations Assisting with bank reconciliations Reconciling petty cash Maintaining the fixed asset register & depreciation calculations Reconciling monthly project Cost Value Comparisons Assisting with year-end audit Maintaining an accurate filing system Credit control Assisting in any other finance duties as requested or required The ideal candidate will have: Previous finance experience Good working knowledge of accountancy software Experienced in using SAGE Strong knowledge of Excel Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA Excellent communication skills
