The Company and the Role:
Senior IT Support Engineer opportunity with established IT and Software Company in Salisbury, working in private and public sectors with large and SME clients, internationally and nationally. The position is full time and permanent.
The Company was established over 10 years ago and now have a team of about 30 to 40 helping the business manage its clients day to day IT and Software responsibilities across the UK and overseas, the dedicated team offers a complete end-to-end digital service.
The Company is looking to offer long term career stability and security to the right talented individual who can help the Company design and build websites, applications, intranets and mobile apps. As a business they maintain hosting environments, support over 200 business websites and web environments.
As a SME Support Team Senior Engineer you are expected to demonstrate a high level of technical competence across a wide range of technologies, establishing the best and most effective route to resolving a client problem at desktop, networking, server and infrastructure level.
You will be expected to build relationships and work collaboratively with clients and other business teams, acting as point of technical escalation, using your commercial awareness, communicating effective time cost quality equation where applicable.

Key Features of the Role:
The SME Support Team's Senior Engineer will be responsible for multi-tasking, to provide technical support and assistance to (potentially) multiple clients remotely, visiting between 0 and 20+ clients per week (estimated 0-200 miles per week).
As Senior IT Support Engineer you will handle and support enquiries from 1st to 3rd line technical support, ranging from PC deployments to server and infrastructure project work.
You will manage your own time, by way of recording all chargeable and non-chargeable activities, in the time recording and ticketing systems near-contemporaneously.
You will work with the rest of your support team colleagues to provide clients with the most expeditious solutions to technical problems, and removing technical impediments.
Offering advice and support to junior staff, as well as escalating larger projects, technical and service-related problems or concerns to Team Managers / Architectural Team.

Knowledge and Skills:
As the SME Support Team's Senior Engineer you will need a full driving licence and your own transport to get to the office and to clients where necessary.
Senior IT Support Engineer must have experience with Microsoft Server and Desktop Platform Support, Maintenance, Deployment and Troubleshooting.
You must have relevant experience and be able to demonstrate vendor-specific skills.
You must have VMWare and Hyper-V Support, maintenance, development and troubleshooting experience, and the ability to troubleshoot DNS issues, Email delivery issues, and WAN and LAN connectivity.
Network Support, maintenance, deployment and troubleshooting (CCNA or equivalent is desirable), as well as the ability to learn and adopt new technologies, software packages, proprietary platforms etc.

For the right SME Support Team's Senior Engineer the Company will offer a basic salary ranging from �30,000 to �40,000, depending on experience and interview assessment.
