About the company:

Freebridge Community Housing was set up in 2006 and now manages around 7,000 homes and 17 sheltered schemes in West Norfolk. We employ around 200 people, including our own Property Services team of operatives. As part of the e2 consortium, our combined aim is to build strong and sustainable communities by providing high quality affordable homes within well designed neighbourhoods.

The main purpose of this role is to provide customers living or moving into a Freebridge Community Housing properties with housing related support services to enable them to maintain their independence and sustain their tenancy.

Duties of the Tenancy Support Advisor:

* Providing advice to customers on welfare benefits and entitlement to those benefits, assisting customers with benefit applications, ensuring accuracy at all times to maximise income for the customer.
* Supporting vulnerable customers to prepare for Welfare Reform by providing money management, budgeting and debt advice. You will complete financial assessments with customers and where necessary help them to re-arrange their current financial agreements.
* Maintaining local information relating to advice and support groups, and signposting customers to these services as necessary.
* Providing advice on banking services available to customers and assist with applications to those services.
* Co-ordinating all referrals to external support agencies, building and maintaining excellent partnership working and updating Housing system details as required.
* Promote low-cost loan and savings with Norfolk Credit Union, and the low-cost insurance scheme managed by Freebridge.

Requirements of the Tenancy Support Advisor:

* Educated to GCSE level
* You will have proven experience in a face-to-face customer service environment, preferably in a Housing Association or other public service organisation.
* You will ideally have some knowledge of debt management, money management and welfare benefits.
* Good IT skills are essential and you will be a good organiser, a confident communicator, a problem solver and customer focussed to achieve all requirements of the role.
