Supply Desk are working closely with a school in South Manchester specialising in Autism and are looking to appoint SEN Teacher. The position will be an excellent opportunity for teachers looking for a new challenge in their teaching career. This specialist Speech and Language school helps build self-esteem and confidence and support students to develop their academic and social skills in preparation for adulthood.

About the role:

* Working as part of an established SEN department as a SEN Teacher-Autism
* Start date May 2018
* Daily rate of £135 and upwards
* Plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups across a range of curriculum subjects
* Managing challenging behaviour
* Encouraging and engaging pupils with Speech and Language Communication Needs
* Working closely with SENCO

About the right candidate:

* Previous experience with Autism preferable but not essential
* Qualified Teacher Status, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
* Commitment to raise the expectations of the learner group, removing barriers to learn and delivering personalised learning
* Having a "can do" attitude
* A team member who is confident, adaptable and can embrace change
* Exceptional social and communication skills
* Display enthusiasm, be proactive, have lots of initiative and able to prioritise support
* Have a real focus in classes to break down expectations and encourage learning
* Willing to travel to South Manchester due to location of the school
