Accounting and Investment Officer £25,000 - £27,000 p/a + amazing benefits (Grade F) Manchester city centre 12 months fixed term Here at the Co-op we operate five pension schemes, including one of the largest in the UK. The scope is huge - we've got over 150,000 active and deferred members and pensioners, circa £10bn of pension assets, and the complexity of historic DB and current DC schemes. Our pensions accounting team provides comprehensive finance support across all five schemes. And now we're looking to recruit a talented accounting and investment officer to join us and help to deliver strong financial control and reporting across our pensions portfolio. As an accounting and investment officer at the Co-op, you'll deliver a wide range of accounting processes to support the maintenance and financial control of the Co-op pension schemes. You'll get great exposure to investment accounting for over £10bn of assets, and we'll give you real autonomy to plan and prioritise your own work to meet challenging deadlines every day. What you'll do: process a range of banking and investment reconciliations accurately record and process financial transactions deliver month-end and year-end processes assist with pension scheme accounts and audit preparation may get involved in different ad-hoc project work work cross-functionally with different teams within Pensions To be successful, you'll be a part-qualified accountant, working towards becoming fully qualified. Previous pensions experience would be a big advantage, but it's not essential as long as you can demonstrate an interest in working in this area. Most important will be your natural numeracy skills, keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver high quality work on-time, every-time. We'd love to speak to you if: you have strong excel, reconciliation and analytical skills you're able to build strong and meaningful working relationships with all kinds of people you're ACCA or CIMA part-qualified (studying towards being fully-qualified) you can bring some pensions accounting experience, this would be a big bonus you have excellent communication skills and you're a real team player Why Co-op?
