This is a high profile role within the business with direct engagement with director-level stakeholders inside and outside the organisation and the opportunity to work closely with other teams, including, legal, financial, regulatory, operational and market experts.

What will this role involve?

As the lead process engineer you will:

Prepare and support the business to achieve its aspiration of achieving excellent environmental compliance. Key indicators will include the number of Cat 1-3 pollutions, the number of Cat 1 -2 pollutions, numerical consent failures from STW’s, % self-reporting of pollutions.

Review incidents and embed learnings across the regions, playing a key role in driving the vision of becoming a learning organisation.

Provide strategic direction and drive environmental compliance, to ensure the business is in the best position both today and in the future.

Be a member of the wastewater treatment leadership team

To be considered for this role you will ideally be educated to degree level in environmental science. Previous experience within the water industry is highly desirable and you will possess demonstrable experience of behavioural improvement.

Detailed knowledge of the wastewater treatment processes and having strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret data to provide useful insight is advantageous.

You will be an exceptional communicator at all levels of an organisation and will have worked in a customer centric business.

Internal stakeholder management is highly desirable and you will be commercially astute with the ability to be the ‘expert’ within your field. You will be competent with IT systems and will be self-confident with a wide technical knowledge base.
