Product Engineer - Materials Automation Processing - London

Contract starting June 2018

Salary -£22-£32 DOE

The client:
A vibrant and exciting London based company with patented and innovative microfiltration technology are looking for a product engineer to lead the automation efforts for ceramic membrane process.

The role:
-Lead the automation efforts of the scale-up process for ceramic membrane cutting and assembly.
-Drive the manufacturing development of the membrane production process beyond green-state.
-Hand-on manufacture of membranes, materials testing and processing.
-Developing, updating and following Standard Operating Procedures as well as Health and Safety Guidelines.
-Improvement of product through sound scientific research.
-Conducting research and keeping accurate records.
-Assist with writing grant funding applications, safeguarding intellectual property and liaising with all levels of staff and stakeholders.

Essential Skills/knowledge required:
-Graduate engineer or scientist in appropriate discipline (Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Ceramics engineer, Electrotechnical, Physics or related)
-Experience in product development, preferably polymers, ceramics and manufacturing roles
-Excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and an effective communicator.

Desirable skills/knowledge:
-PhD level, or relevant experience
-Experience in development of complex products, preferably ceramics and/or polymer products.
-Experience with SolidWorks and/or 3D software
-Experience in the microfiltration sector and materials processing.
