Andy File Associates Limited are currently recruiting for a Merchandiser, working within the commercial department an exciting opportunity to work in this fast paced innovative environment within our clients Head Offices in Sheffield. Initially a 12 month contract.

Role Purpose:

Management and in season trading of Divisional Stock Holding and margin Targets to maximise sales and minimise markdown

Accountabilities:

The effective management and leadership of the Allocator within your Division(s)

Delivery of the Commercial Strategy that fully supports and delivers the Commercial sales, margin and stock targets from a Merchandising perspective

The bottom up planning of the stock, sales and margin budgets to ensure it delivers the sales, margin and stock-turn targets as defined within the Commercial Plan for your Division(s)

The in-season trading of the Divisional stock-holding to ensure both sales and profit are maximised and markdown is kept to a minimum

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Team Manage the Allocator to deliver the Commercial Plan, by giving clear communication and direction, support their training and development needs with regular 121s, appraisals, objectives, development plans, and with support from your line manager, manage poor performance.

*Encourage team members to provide solutions to problems and make suggestions to improve ways of working.

*Team collaboration Develop ways of working with the other Merchandisers to create a sustainable and resilient high performing operating team

*Commercial Plan Work alongside the Buyer(s) to agree a product range that delivers the sales, margin and stock key performance indicators as defined in the commercial strategy

*Strategy Co-ordinate and deliver the end of season review and inform next season’s Strategy by providing thorough range analysis to support ranging, pricing and margin decisions

*Planning Work bottom up with the buyer to meet the agreed divisional sales and margin budgets whilst ensuring business risks are flagged accordingly

*Ranging Process Management of the ranging critical path resulting in Range Sign offs and Orders being placed to lead-times to ensure stock is delivered on time

*Range Sign Offs With the buyer, present the financial roll ups of new ranges before presentation for Head of Merchandising sign off

*Stock Planning Post Range sign off review proposed stock budgets and intake plans to ensure they support the signed off ranges flagging any differences to the business financial plans

*WSSI/OTB Re-forecast the sales and margin to ensure OTB is in line with sales and margin performance for sign of with your line manager

*Availability Ensure availability levels are maintained, review all best sellers, key lines, and new lines, weekly, to ensure maximum availability and poor sellers are identified and corrective action taken

*In Season Trading Work with the buyer to drive the sales and profit of the Division in line with the set key performance indicators and effectively and proactively trade the stock in line with these plans

*Promotions Work with the buyer to select the products and agree pricing for all promotional activity (including Mailer) to ensure the sales and margin targets of that Division are met

*Time Management Delegate tasks to work effectively and efficiently
Personal Development Actively seek feedback to further improve efficiency and ways of working with other departments

*Be prepared to carry out other ad hoc duties in line with manager requests

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Skills: - Computer Literate, Analytical, problem solving, communication, self motivating, pro - active, commercial, teamwork, delegation, coaching, listener

Knowledge: -  Merchandising processes and principles, Ranging/Buying processes, Supply Chain and operations, Stores processes

Experience: - Commercial, leadership/Management

Hours

Mon - Fri - 40 hours

Salary

£30,000 - £33,000 pa
