A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a specialist Temporary Accommodation Arrears Officer to join one of London's leading local authority clients in a full time (35 hours per week) temporary role. Based in Central London and lasting for six months, the client is keen to recruit a candidate who has performed a similar role before and has experience or knowledge in: * Temporary accommodation housing, and chasing arrears of tenants living in temporary accommodation (Bed & Breakfast). * Notice to Quit (NTQ) legislation, and how this can affect both tenants and landlords. * Welfare Reform and benefit caps; And how these are affecting tenant's chances of obtaining affordable properties in their local area/or remaining in their current home. * Advising on housing benefits and calculating rent arrears. * Going to court to reclaim rent arrears owed to the Council. The role will focus on income maximisation for households placed in Temporary Accommodation. Substantial experience of income recovery work, including court attendance, is essential. Experience of Universal Credit procedures is also a must. Only applicants who are immediately available (or on a short notice period) and who feel they meet the above criteria need apply.
