Marketing and Business Development Assistant (Graduate role) 12 month fixed-term contract £20,000 - £22,000 City of London My client is a rapidly growing global law firm, specialising in financial services, commercial litigation and employment law. They are currently undergoing an exciting period of expansion, and need to hire a Marketing and Business Development Assistant to assist in searching, organising and reporting information on law firm activity in different sectors, providing directory listings and press coverage for competitive analysis. This position also supports internal review, documentation and analysis of marketing and BD practices. This opportunity is ideal for a marketing graduate (or similar, commercial subject) to kick start their marketing career within great prospects for development. Whilst the role is a 12 month contract, there is the possibility to extend, subject to performance in the role. The role offers great exposure to partners and employees across the firm. About the role: Analysing competitor activity and positioning through reviewing industry directories, press coverage, websites, online information databases and marketing information for different legal practice areas and business sectors. Assess different target markets by geographic area and industry sector. Assisting with the preparation of market positioning statements and credentials to specific sectors, practices and geographies. Assisting in report generation for use internally, including both content and format. Preparing and offering analysis of internal processes and procedures to improve efficiency. Inputting to reviews of internal systems to improve information quality, such as new business opportunities and targeting records. Using internal and external databases to prepare client targeting information. Required skills: Educated to degree level in Marketing or similar, and looking to pave a career path in this field. Highly PC literate, with high quality communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Analytical and consultative approach to business challenges and opportunities. Motivation, intelligence, initiative and curiosity to research and identify commercial and legal issues. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational skills and time management in approaching large volumes of information. Interested in business development, marketing, consulting and/or professional services.
