Support Analyst required on the back of further expansion and new projects to join busy Service Desk on the outskirts of Colchester preferably (not essentially) with ITIL qualification. The catalyst for this role is a huge programme of change as part of a Global organisations relocation to the Colchester area. My client are the leading brand in their field of expertise with offices spread across the globe, a recent strategic decision has been made to relocate all IT functions for the group to the Colchester region creating a number of opportunities that promise challenge and career advancement in the years to come. The Service Desk is a key contact point for the IT infrastructure team and a key indicator for the health of the Infrastructure as a whole. This support role will see you acting as the first point of contact diagnosing and resolving end user issues remotely via the Service Desk or where necessary in person in the form of Desktop Support. Unresolved tickets will need to be escalated to the 2nd and 3rd line support teams where your clear diagnostics and ability to provide clear analysis of the issue will be vital for a quick resolution. In addition to responsive support issues, you will also play a part in the BAU Admin through Service requests relating to Active Directory, Exchange, and other core Windows applications. The Deployment of software and procurement of replacement IT peripherals and components will also come into your remit alongside Updates and Driver Logs. This element of the Service Desk is project led so the shift will be between 8:00 and 20:00 with the odd occasion where weekend or out of hours work may be required which would be at higher overtime rates.

Successful candidates will preferably (though not essentially) be ITIL foundation trained your knowledge will include Windows platforms (XP, Win7) to include some configuration knowledge and Support of the wider Microsoft product suite (Office (Apply online only)), Active Directory admin (new users, change requests) and an appreciation of Service Management tool (eg Service-Now). Candidates with ITIL accreditation or exposure to an ITIL Service Delivery model would be of particular interest. A personality will be vital to take part in the office banter but good communication skills will also be a requirement for the role, not just the sociable environment.
