Job Summary
The territorial police force responsible for law enforcement within the City of London is looking to recruit a Performance Analyst to work with a wide range of stakeholder in the public and private sector to examine performance and identify opportunities for improvement in service levels, internal working practices and operating procedures.

The postholder will require an innovative mind to work with a wide range of data to create analytical products to direct activity to improve product quality and performance of ECD services. This will include identifying, developing and presenting performance and quality assurance information for the senior management team and national law enforcement. You will be required to make reasonable evidence based recommendations to improve performance.

Duties and responsibilities

* Collate, evaluate and analyse information from a variety of internal and external sources, producing high quality analytical products, contributing to the development of ECD strategies and performance management
* Applying analytical techniques, to develop analytical reports including recommendations for service delivery improvements.
* Identification and development of quality assurance opportunities to improve the effectiveness of ECD products.
* Working in partnership with law enforcement and key stakeholders.
* Assist in the effective management and maintenance of both manual and computerised recording systems.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and grade as reasonably requested by line management.
* Assess the value of intelligence in line with the control strategy and intelligence requirements. Carry out further research and analysis when required to maximise intelligence value and determine the appropriate dissemination route.
* Support/implement the City of London and City of London Police Occupational Health and Safety Policy in relation to the duties of the post, and at all times give due regard to the health and safety of both themselves and others when carrying out their duties.

What you'll need to succeed
Applicants are expected to have the following skills:

* Excellent research and analytical skills to identify the required information to facilitate accurate assessments of performance and quality assurance.
* Experience in database management and recording of performance data.
* Ability to manage and evaluate data to ascertain value and disseminate as appropriate in accordance with the correct handing guidance.
* Excellent report writing skills to provide key information in relation to the assessment decision that is both clear and auditable.
* Good decision making skills and the ability to communicate decisions to stakeholder groups and effectively manage their expectations.
* Ability to present information in a clear and concise fashion.
* Ability to identify and adapt to changing priorities.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The ability to use a wide variety of open and closed source databases, PND/PNC is desirable.

Applicants must have knowledge of:

* Performance management processes.
* Knowledge of quality assurance mechanisms.

Applicants with previous experience of working as a performance analyst within a law enforcement or associated public/private sector organisation will be favoured and a proven analytical background, together with knowledge of performance management and quality assurance, is expected.

This is a 4 month temporary assignment with possibility of extension. The role falls in-scope of IR35 and is paying £21.30ph Premium PAYE / £24.16ph Umbrella LTD
