A National Autistic Society and Elkan accredited primary SEN school in the borough of Hillingdon (Hayes) are seeking teaching assistants with experience or proven interest in supporting special needs in education.

This role is for an upper KS2 class working both one-to-one and generally with pupils statemented with Autism, ADHD, complex needs and behavioural difficulties. Due to increased social needs of pupils in the upper KS22 class, successful teaching assistants must resilient, creative, open to learning and confident in both educational and social support of pupils.

This post is for an immediate start and will span until end of academic year in July 2019 with the opportunity for a permanent contract in the summer.

Upper KS2 autism teaching assistant:

* Classes of up to 8 pupils with a teacher and additional support staff
* 85% of pupils within school on the autism spectrum
* Supporting pupils with individual learning plans – Maths, English, Science and Technology, Language and Communication
* Supporting pupils in class, across the school and out of class at break times
* Full time Monday to Friday term time only – 8.30am -4.30pm (non-negotiable)
* Permanent contracts will be released to internal supply staff July 2019

* School offers outreach programmes to school across Hillingdon and Ealing

* Previous experience or proven interest supporting autism , ADHD and social difficulties
* UK education or non-educational SEN environments experience
* Degree qualifications is highly desirable but not essential (GCSE equivalent required)
